I know you’re all already really awesome soccer players, but there’s a way you can be even more awesome: eating well!!! Supplying your body with the right nutrients is key to being stronger and having more energy for game day.
A few helpful tips:
- Get rid of the junk! You know what kind of food I’m talking about. Try your best to drink less soda and eat less candy. Instead, replace those things with water or tea and lots of vegetables! Fruits are good too, but vegetables are even better! I’m a big fan of snacking on cucumber slices :)
- Eat plenty of food! Just make sure it’s good-for-you food J A lot of people think that the key to being healthy is to eat less food. For some, like people who spend all day sitting in an office, that might be true, but you’re playing soccer all the time and using lots of energy. Your body needs a lot of food so it can have the fuel to keep your muscles moving!
- Drink lots of water! Most people don’t drink enough water and are almost always slightly dehydrated. I like to bring a water bottle with me everywhere I go. That usually prevents me from buying soda or other sugary drinks, too!
